This blog has now been silent for a year. The reason is bad for all of us: Our sister Roswitha ("rfm") died on May 2nd, 2015 from a quickly developing cancer in her spine and, then, her brain.

I will leave her blog online so that all who took interest in her crochet work can look at it and see what was one of her favorite hobbies - but, in my humble opinion as a complete layman, obviously more than a simple hobby.

Much more could be told about her - maybe, one day, I find time, to tell stories and interests and achievements connected to her, because I think that we all live on in what is told by others.

Advent Calendar Dec 23rd

Some of the riches the three magi brought: golden treasure.
(I imagine the other gifts from the magi are in the bags the camel is carrying - in case you are wondering. There is only one more day now, and that is reserved for another pattern.)

Advent Calendar Dec 22nd

There is an ox here, feeding peacefully.
(This ox looks a bit like a zebu - which was intentional, because I wanted to give the scene in the stable a slightly oriental feeling. Making the horns smaller would turn the ox into more traditional European cattle).

Advent Calendar Dec 21st

And so they all, shepherds and kings, led by the guiding light of the Christmas star, move towards a dark stable somewhere in the town of Bethlehem: here is a manger, filled with straw for the animals housed there to feed upon.
